I had a stroke (T.I.A) last Febuary 08. My doctor prescribed me Palvix to thinner my blood to check another blood clot on me. I am taking Palvix for 1 1l2 years and recently I had Blood test and I found out that my Hematocrit is 36.6 vol%. It is below the normal level 40.00-54.00. My cholesterol level is 195 mg/dl. Is it advisable to stop taking the Palvix for a month until I have another blood test for Hct? Kindly advise

We are not on a PD website in position to comment on best stroke care. We would suggest you check with your neurologist for an in person discussion of risks and benefits in your case._________________Michael S. Okun, M.D.
