As my family have three PD patients should they receive surgery instead the medications to take away" not going away" the PD.

I understand there are surgery for PD i.e. Brain surgery(deep brain stimulation(Pallidotomy) and Transplantation. Is it consistent benefit?

Kindly brief shortly. Thanks Teo Kim Hoe

Dear Teo. Surgery is only for a select group of very well selected patients with PD. There are specific criteria and the evaluation should be done by a multidisciplinary team. NPF has a publication on the website you can download for free at http://www.parkinson.org/_________________Michael S. Okun, M.D.
